Gyeonggi 21 is the name for 'Local Agenda
21 of Gyeonggi-do' promoted by Gyeonggi Province
on the basis of the United Nations Conference
on Environment and Development's 'Local Agenda
21' in 1992.
Green Gyeonggi 21 is a new governance mechanism
with
specific action plans considering the economic,
social and environmental factors of the
province
through the democratic process of discussion
and
consensus through participation of local
governments,
businesses, and citizens to make Gyeonggi-do
environmentally sound and sustainable .
Further, Green Gyeonggi 21 is a movement
of autonomous
participation and social innovation in which
all members of
the community including administration,
councils,
businesses, citizen's organizations, workers,
farmers,
professionals, women, and youth participate.
